Project Overviewx
Our Lady of the Lake expanded its facilities with a 375,000-square-foot, 10-story heart and vascular tower. The emergency department was the area’s first Level 1 Trauma Center and one of two in the entire state. The new tower serves as a new training hospital and will increase the beds for vascular intensive care patients. The tower also includes five operating rooms and 150 beds. Concurrent to the construction of the tower will be the addition of 18,000 square feet to the medical center’s existing emergency department/trauma center and renovating existing space in six phases. The expanded trauma center will house two additional CT scan machines, an additional MRI machine, and a heli-pad large enough to land two helicopters. This project was a joint venture with Milton J. Womack, Inc. and JE Dunn Construction.
