Cypress River Lofts-Section 3 and MBE/WBE Construction Work Available

Cypress River Lofts has been awarded Federal funds for the development and construction of a multifamily residential complex to be located in Baton Rouge, LA.  Milton J. Womack will serve as the General Contractor on this project. The work to be performed under this contract is subject to the requirements of Section 3 of Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended, 12 U.S.C. 1701u (section3).
This is a HUD funded project, and we are interested in making sure that Subcontractors and Owners of Section 3 businesses and Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises who live in, or whose businesses are located within the Baton Rouge, Louisiana metropolitan Statistical Area know about the possible employment opportunities this project will offer. It is also our intent to provide employment opportunities to low and very low-income persons, particularly those who are residents of public assisted housing within the City of Baton Rouge and East Baton Rouge Parish, residents within the project neighborhood, participants in HUD Youth-build programs and/or homeless persons.
All Subcontractors and businesses must furnish proof of liability and workers compensation insurance and evidence of qualification as a Section 3 entity. Additionally, subcontractors must comply with the Davis Bacon Act, the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act, the Copeland Act and the Fair Labor Standards Act. Building Courier/Handyman

Job Summary:

The courier/handyman will complete various tasks and errands to keep the office flowing smoothly as well as arrange appointments with vendors for building maintenance.  This will be a full-time position.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily cleaning crew.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Deliver mail/packages as directed by office staff.
  • Complete office shopping to maintain adequate supplies.
  • Arrange needed maintenance for building with various vendors and complete minor repairs.
  • Direct vendors onsite for setup of company events.
  • Consult with building tenants to address building issues and perform general janitorial task as needed.
  • Obtains services of outside contractors when repairs require specialized training.
  • Performs general cleaning tasks in the facility.
  • Maintains inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to safely drive company vehicle.

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in related field preferred.
  • Up to date driver’s license and driving record required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, and crawl into awkard spaces.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.

A.C. Lewis-YMCA Apartment Complex-Section 3 and MBE/WBE Construction Work Available

South Foster, LLC. has been awarded Federal funds for the purpose of a new A.C. Lewis-YMCA Apartment Complex; to be located in Baton Rouge, LA.  Milton J. Womack will serve as the General Contractor on this project. Superintendent- New Orleans Area

This is a full-time on-site role as a Superintendent with Milton J. Womack, Inc. located in New Orleans, LA. The Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction projects and ensuring that they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The Superintendent will need to communicate with the project team, subcontractors, and personnel to maintain a high level of quality and ensure that projects meet the owner’s goals.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience with commercial building construction, including scheduling and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
  • Proficiency in project management software, PlanGrid, and Microsoft Office.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 5 or more years of experience in commercial construction.

Project Manager-New Orleans Area

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the coordination of assigned construction projects which includes contract administration, procurement, document management, financial and risk management, scheduling, and quality control as necessary to support field operations from start-up to completion of assigned projects. They will also effectively monitor and present project updates to relevant stakeholders, clients, or project team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related curriculum or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of commercial construction experience on projects valued at $5 million, with a least 3 years at a Project Manager level or equivalent.
  • Strong business acumen in project planning and management.
  • Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with project management software and tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
