This is a full-time on-site role as an Assistant Superintendent with Milton J. Womack, Inc. located in Lake Charles, LA. The Assistant Superintendent’s primary responsibility is to support the Superintendent and Project Manager in the successful completion of assigned projects. The Assistant Superintendent participates in overseeing job site safety, quality, project scheduling, and communications with the subcontractors, architect and consultants on field and constructability issues.

Qualifications:

• Experience with commercial building construction, including scheduling and budgeting.
• Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and safety regulations.
• In collaboration with the Superintendent perform daily job site walks.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
• Ability to assist with setting up job site logistics, field coordination, and project scheduling.
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• 5 or more years of experience in commercial construction.

Cypress River Lofts has been awarded Federal funds for the development and construction of a multifamily residential complex to be located in Baton Rouge, LA.  Milton J. Womack will serve as the General Contractor on this project. It is also our intent to provide employment opportunities to low and very low-income persons, particularly those who are residents of public assisted housing within the City of Baton Rouge and East Baton Rouge Parish, residents within the project neighborhood, participants in HUD Youth-build programs and/or homeless persons.

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the coordination of assigned construction projects which includes contract administration, procurement, document management, financial and risk management, scheduling, and quality control as necessary to support field operations from start-up to completion of assigned projects. They will also effectively monitor and present project updates to relevant stakeholders, clients, or project team members.

Qualifications
•Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related curriculum or equivalent experience
•5+ years of commercial construction experience on projects valued at least $5 million, with at least 3 years at a Project Manager level or equivalent
•Strong business acumen in project planning and management
•Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills
